Size(m): 2.40×1.55
This is a magnificent Bokhara rug. The term Bokhara is a term commonly used to describe Tekke-faced rugs. Tekke was a tribe from the area of Bokhara in Central Asia. The design is dominated by rows of guls and surrounding geometric patterns. Gul are medallions, often octagonal, and often somewhat angular on a generally octagonal plan, though they can be somewhat rounded within the constraints of carpet-weaving, and some are lozenge-shaped. The gul pattern is repeated on the centre field that is a delightful red hue. The colour of the main border reflects the colours of that appear elsewhere in the carpet.
