Persian Qum Silk
Stock No. SY-100-000870
Size(m): 1.97×1.30
This is a handmade Qum silk signed carpet 1.97 m by 1.31 m featuring a rosette-central motif with two drops, set on a main field with a base color of soft blue with many flowers and vines on it.
Qom rugs (or Qum, Ghom, Ghum) are made in the Qom Province of Iran, around 100 km south of Tehran. Although rug weaving in Qom was not a major industry until the past 100 years, the luxurious silk and wool rugs of Qom are known for their high quality and are regarded among the most expensive in the world.
Because they are relatively new arrivals to the art of carpet design and weaving, they have drawn inspiration from the best carpet weavers, and often have produced rugs superior to those from which they have drawn inspiration.
These carpets are regarded as being among the most beautiful and the most exclusive Persian carpets available.
The field of this botanical masterpiece is a breathtaking shade of blue, serving as the canvas for an enchanting ensemble of rambling plants and magnificent flowers. Blue is a tranquil color designed to bring people a sense of inner peace. In many cultures, blue is also strongly associated with trust and loyalty.
The rosette at the center is a common motif in Persian carpets, often symbolizing beauty, symmetry, and the unfolding of life. The two drops, top and bottom, can represent balance and completeness.
The flowers and vines sprawling across the field could symbolize the growth and abundance found in nature.
Persian carpets often carry a deep cultural significance, with each motif and color carefully chosen to convey meanings rooted in tradition. The combination of these elements in this carpet is likely to reflect themes of nature, balance, and the cyclical nature of life.
Ultimately, the significance of this carpet lies in the harmonious interplay of colors and motifs, creating a visually appealing and culturally rich tapestry that reflects both the artistry of the weaver and the enduring traditions of Persian carpet design.
This magnificent piece, with its rich symbolism and meticulous craftsmanship, transforms any space into an environment of unparalleled sophistication and aesthetic splendor. Purchase it today with complete confidence.
