This is a beautiful Saruq (Sarouk) rug that comes from the village of that name in the region of Arak. Its central medallion design is a traditional decoration for this type of carpet. The design is fundamentally floral. The corner panels are heavly populated with interesting motifs. Traditional colours are used here include ground of orange-red turn down with ivory, dark blue and green. The carpet would look impressive in most settings.
