This is an extraordinarily beautiful but compact carpet. It is made from silk and it is made in the city of Qom. It measures 1.44 centimetres by 1 point, sorry, by 97 centimetres. It has at its centre a single flower that is blooming outwards. As it moves out, the shape changes from a circle to an elongated shape with pelmets at the perimeter. It is quite like an oval with, instead of a continuous circle line, the periphery has these pelmet shapes which has an image almost of water ebbing outwards. The medallion itself contains a beautiful combination of colours including a delightfully muted blue-grey colour and also a base colour of a soft gentle green with various shades and hues of that colour. The dominant colour in the carpet has to be of the flowers which seem to hover all about but there is in fact symmetry in relation to their placement. There is a line of flowers which orbit the central medallion. They are like satellites and they look superb. As one moves out from that central medallion motif, you have the first orbiting line of satellites and then they seem to move further afield out into the main field of the carpet. These flowers, as mentioned, are red in colour. There are different flowers, though, in different colours throughout the carpet. Some of them are hues of beautiful soft gentle yellow ivory eggshell colours with touches of green. 

The combination of a massive number of flowers together with this satellite image of them orbiting around the central medallion gives an idea of creation itself. There is a movement outward, there is a growth and there is spring.
