This Qum wool carpet is a wonderful balance of colours ranging from hues of red and oranges to more subtle colours of beige, desert sand and champagne. It has a complex central medallion motif. However, the design is so clever that the overall impression this carpet gives is one of harmony and balance results. The central medallion has a central focal point that is red in colour and the patterns and design moves on from there into a field containing an abundance of floral motifs on a red background. The field is spectacularly beautiful, containing motifs all resting together. The darker colours present in the main border provides much needed definition and power to what might otherwise be a chaotic field. This is a magnificent carpet.
