This is an extraordinarily beautiful overall repeat stylised boteh pattern centre field rug from Baku in Azerbaijan Russia, that has a most pronounced main border which is a striking and on a base colour of blue. Its composition and design are of the highest order. The field contains an abundance of motifs (including boteh), very much in a straw colour. The design is clever and the overall impression this carpet gives is one of harmony and balance, yet it has a strong presence.
