This is an extraordinarily beautiful overall repeat motif pattern centre field rug from Baku in Azerbaijan Russia, that has a most pronounced main border and a striking guard border in a bright orange red colour. Its composition and design are of the highest order. The field contains an abundance of motifs (quite possibly representing Ram Horn the symbol of power), in striking mixed colours including orange, reds and yellows. The design is clever and the overall impression this carpet gives is one of harmony and balance despite its mixture of colours and motifs.
