This amazingly beautiful central medallion( lozenge shaped) carpet, surrounded by herati motifs is an excellent example of top of the range Saneh carpet. The shape of the centre lozenge is repeated in each of the four corners of the field but toned down completely by the colours of the motifs that almost fill up the space of the lozenges. There is a wonderful and brilliantly balanced assortment of colours that suggests refined taste and excellence. The colours appearing in the central medallion motifs are repeated in the outer border and throughout the rug. There are delightful combinations of hues and shades of red, wine-plum, violet, and desert sand. These colours and patterns, both in the central medallion (the red in the central lozenge is particularly pronounced) and elsewhere in the carpet are beautifully blended.
