Persian Tabriz Superfine
Stock No. SY-142-001053
Size(m): 3.50×2.53
This is a most beautiful handmade carpet. It is from the city of Tabriz and it is made out of silk. It is 3.50 by 2.53 meters. It is spellbinding in its beauty. The eye is drawn to the central medallion that is rosette in shape. The central medallion has top and bottom, a pendant or a drop that is in keeping with the overall design and shape of the carpet, allowing for a sense of balance and harmony and proportion.
What is of particular interest in this carpet is that that rosette and the two drops are contained within guard borders that have an enormous number of variety of flowers and vines. There is a sense of the concept of continuity of design. When we look at this, we may think of creation as having no beginning or no end, that it will go on endlessly. Yet it is all beautifully contained within a stadium shaped border that provides a sense of balance and harmony to the rug.
A central medallion carpet in a stadium shape, featuring a circular medallion with extended pendants on either side (top and bottom), can hold various symbolic meanings.
1.Unity and Wholeness:
The circular medallion, often a symbol of unity and wholeness, suggests a harmonious and complete existence. The stadium shape could further amplify the idea of a shared, collective experience within its confines.
2.Balance and Symmetry:
The pendant extensions on the top and bottom contribute to the overall symmetry of the design. Symmetry is often associated with balance, suggesting a sense of equilibrium and stability.
3.Cohesiveness and Inclusivity:
The stadium shape might symbolize inclusivity and togetherness. In a similar vein to how a stadium brings people together for shared experiences, the carpet design reflects a cohesive and communal spirit.
4.Floral Abundance:
The dark blue base color and the proliferation of flowers throughout the field could symbolize life, growth, and abundance. Flowers often carry positive connotations, representing beauty, vitality, and the cyclical nature of life.
5.Cultural or Artistic Significance:
The specific design elements, colors, and shapes might carry cultural or artistic significance. Carpets often serve as expressions of cultural identity, and the choice of motifs can convey deeper meanings unique to a particular tradition or region.
6.Aesthetic Appeal:
Beyond symbolism, the stadium shape may have been chosen for its aesthetic appeal. The elongated design might enhance the visual impact of the carpet, creating a captivating focal point in any space.
As one journey’s or ‘expands’ out from the central medallion to the stadium shaped guard border, there is a continuation of this growth outward, very much like the Big Bang. One thing moves on to another and is then contained with a frame or a border, but then expands further.
The subtle and sophisticated palette, featuring shades of very light pink, salmon, lavender, blue, ivory and grey, enhances the overall beauty of the carpet. The combination of colors and patterns makes this rug a truly exceptional piece of art.
