Persian Heriz Vintage Circa 1940
Heriz is the name applied to the rugs of a group of approximately 30 villages that live within a radius of 30 miles of Tabriz in north-west Iran. The country Weavers of the Heriz rugs preferred to weave rectilinear patterns as opposed to the curvilinear patterns of their country cousins of Tabriz. They usually have light backgrounds with beautiful designs and various shades including browns and blues.
